Pian Dell'Orino Piandorino Toscana IGT 2016

Piandorino 2016 is a dark beauty. Dark and ripe blackberries, plums, black cherries come together with dark chocolate. Rich aromas and flavours of earthy and nutty notes of roasted hazelnut and nougat, red pepper, grilled red meat and a hint of warming cinnamon are in fine harmony. Full and expressive, powerful and substantial wine is by far not for light wine drinkers but it shines through the amazing balance.

This is a great introduction to the exceptional wines of Caroline Pobitzer and Jan-Hendrick Erbacher of Pian Dell'Orino.

91+ points Wine Advocate

Entry-level wines should all aspire to this. The 2015 Piandorino exhibits delicate floral notes with violets and wild cherries backed by delicate earthy tones. Fruit for this wine comes from the youngest vines that are planted in thick clay soils. This wine is fine and beautifully delicate on the finish. Only 3,000 bottles were made.
