Massolino, founded in 1896 by Giovanno Massolino, is a family-owned and -operated estate produces one of the best Barolos mostly from their Serralunga vineyards. Parafada is one their most prestigious vineyards along with Margheria and Vigna Rionda Riserva.
The wine is intense and bright garnet. Deep and very complex with loads of flavors, red fruits together with floral and spicy notes. Unmistakable elegance and sophistication of Nebbiolo which will increase with age.

The 2013 Barolo Parafada is a gorgeous wine that needs ample time to complete its promising ageing evolution. The quality of fruit is still tight and slightly nervous, although the well-managed tannins show an impressive level of integration even at this early stage. The wine is assembled with tightly fitted building blocks that give it a grounding sense of firmness and stacked layering.

Cherry and cigar box aromas introduce this juicy, linear red. Strawberry, cherry, floral and chalky mineral flavors are persistent and pure as this retreats into a tannic structure. Shows terrific length, so be patient. Best from 2022 through 2038. 1,066 cases made.
