Marchesi Antinori Badia a Passignano, Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG, Italy 2011

The Badia a Passignano Abbey is situated three kilometres to the south of the Antinori's most famous Tenuta Tignanello estate.

Antinori's Badia a Passignano Chianti Classico Gran Selezione is known for its ripe, intense and rich character. The wine shows aromas of both of fruit and the typical sensations of oak, which blends harmonically and offer as well balsamic and graphite notes on the nose. The palate is rich, with supple and balanced tannins along with the vibrant freshness typical of Sangiovese. Almost like a Brunello!

From a classic 2011 vintage, this is a sensational, beautiful Chianti Classico.

Dark berry and blueberry aromas with hints of lemon and floral undertones. Full body, silky tannins and a hazelnut, chocolate complexity to the whole thing. Delicious and flavorful yet always remains balanced.
