Laurel is the second wine of the Clos Erasmus, critically acclaimed flagship wine, one of Spain’s most sought-after cult Priorat wines. Made mostly of Garnacha, blended with some Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.
Owned by Daphne Glorian, one of the five winemakers who transformed Priorat into a cult wine region, the Laurel no longer stands in the shadow of its big brother Clos Erasmus, as evidenced by its 95 point score for the 2014 vintage by the Wine Advocate it is a big wine on its own, while being four times cheaper than its big brother.
Laurel is aged in a combination of vessels oak barrels, oak vats, cement and most interestingly amphorae.
