Michel Chevré Clos de l'Ecotard Saumur Blanc 2016

Michel Chevré worked with Thierry Germain of Roches Neuves, one of the best Loire producers before founding his own small domain. Yet, the wine is vinified by Thierry Germain in his own cellar.

This is an extremely crisp, bone dry Chenin Blanc with lively acidity. The wine is complex with expressive aromas of citrus, apricot, green pear, melon, thyme, white flowers like honeysuckle are accompanied by flinty mineral and saltiness. But don't be fooled by all these, it is silky soft, a bit shy and delicate. Absolutely wonderful Chenin that will age a decade.

Medium golden yellow, ripe pear fruit with a hint of honey, hints of apricot, dark minerality, delicate orange zest. Good complexity, juicy, lively acidity, sweetish fruit on the finish, salty in the back taste, very good potential.
