Attractive and engaging bouquet of ripe red berry fruits - raspberry, plum and cherry; plenty of spice and mineral tones with a wild red rose perfume. On the palate - dry, fruity with flavors that reflect the nose - wild raspberry and plum, moderate toasty oak and oak spice layer, loads of energy, fine tannins and plenty of acidity; youthful. Very perfumed and aromatic.
The wine is made from hand-picked Pinot Noirs from 8 ha vineyards, fermented with wild yeast and matured in 20% new French oak.

97 points, Decanter - Deep yet clear garnet-red in colour. Juicy, spicy, forthright plum and pomegranate fruits with some added floral intrigue, too: complex and commanding. Ample rounded, bright fruits on the palate, the plum and pomegranate now sweetened by a little cherry and strawberry. The oak is submissive, as are the soft tannins, allowing the fruit to sing out with full Central Otago force. 2019-2026.
